Step into Sport is part of a government / schools strategy which focuses on young people between the ages of 16 and 19 and aims to encourage them to undertake an active involvement in sports leadership and volunteering that will continue later in life. A volunteer is anyone who gives up their free time to help their community

At the conference all students will participate in the following workshops:
1. FUNdamentals
2. Safeguarding
3. Disability Sports Awareness
4. Community Volunteering

Following the conference LIVING SPORT will assist in finding voluntary placements for young people within the community. This placement could be in a sports club or organisation and could be anything from coaching to administration, officiating to web site design. Young people who regularly volunteer will then have the opportunity to access additional training such as National Governing Body courses.
