Celebration Dance Competition

Virtual Dance Competition

When:                   Spring Term. Video entries to be submitted by 1st April 2022. 

Who for:              Three separate competitions for KS1, KS2 and KS3/4

Format:                Group performance. Teams can be of any size from 3-30 so small groups, large groups or a whole class and can be boys, girls or mixed gender. Videos should be 1-3 minutes in length, any dance style to any music but linking to the theme of The Commonwealth Games as outlined below.

Theme:                  The Commonwealth Games -inspiring friendship, embracing celebration and diversity and connecting communities

Criteria:               Performances will be judged on the following criteria; 1. Link to the Theme (10 marks), 2. Performance of Skills (10 marks), 3. Creativity/Originality (10 marks), 4. Staging/Formation and the use of floor area (10 marks)

Video entry:      Video entries can be sent in at any time during the Spring Term (deadline 1st April). Maximum 1 entry per key stage per school. It may be an idea to have an intra school competition and select your entries from this.

PLEASE NOTE: When submitting videos of pupils please ensure that your school photo/video consent policy is followed at all times. No videos submitted as entries into this competition will be shared publicly. They will only be viewed by the competition organisers and judges. If your videos are too large to email you can send them in for free via WeTransfer, its very straightforward if you’ve not used it before https://wetransfer.com/

 

Next round:       The winners from each School Sports Partnership area will be invited to perform at the opening ceremony of a Partnership competition this year and will also be judged by the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough School Games Organising Committee with the chance to perform at the opening ceremony of the county School Games Summer Festival in June 2022.
