Sawtry Community College hosted two afternoons of sporting activities for year
2 children in partner primary schools on Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 November
2008.
140 children participated in a carousel
of multiskill activities designed to enhance their, speed, agility, balance and
co-ordination skills. Primary pupils
from Holme, Elton, Great Gidding, Alconbury, Folksworth and Sawtry Infant school,
had the opportunity to develop their core skills whilst in a competitive and
fun environment. The sporting activities were led by CSL Level 2 students from Sawtry Community
College who rose to the challenge of leading
their first event. The afternoon culminated with certificates presented to all
who took part.
These schools have been working together
as part of the Hunts Schools Sport Partnership (HSSP) which is working with
schools to increase children’s participation in physical activity. This was the first opportunity of the
academic year for the HSSP to gather pupils from the Sawtry family of schools to
participate together in an afternoon of fun activities.
