Despite the challenges earlier in the year of funding cuts, the Hunts School Sports
Partnership has had a great start to this school year with over 75% of Huntingdonshire schools signed up to the Partnership subscription service. Thank you all for your support. We have already been able to offer access to funding through a wide range of new opportunities to support the delivery of high quality PE and Sport in schools including Bikeability, training courses, Olympic resources and Golf, Active 8 and Change for Life after school clubs. These opportunities have helped children and young people to lead healthy active lifestyles and through sport they have increased their self esteem and confidence across the curriculum. Look out for the new opportunities on offer next year and don't miss out!
Our School Sport Competition Organisers (SSCOs) who are trained PE specialists are supporting teaching staff in curriculum time and our team of ten high quality sports coaches are trained and supported to work in curriculum time in schools. Our sports coaches include racquets coaches (tennis, mini squash, badminton and table tennis), Athletics, Dance, Hockey and Golf coaches. Make sure you have booked your sports coach visit with us.
Next year will be very special for us all with London 2012 not far away, we are looking forward to working with you and using the enthusiasm and excitement of the Olympics to engage all children and young people in sport. Look out for the Spirit of Hinchingbrooke torch at your next sports festival. For more information please contact Sue Ager on sa@hinchbk.cambs.sch.uk
