Primary Schools Dynamos Cricket returns to Ramsey

The Hunts School Sports Partnership returned to the amazing facilities at Ramsey Cricket Club for the second of three Dynamo’s cricket events in partnership with Cricket East!

Dynamos provides children with a more social format, focused on developing fundamental movement skills and applying them in an exciting game of cricket.

The latest event which took place on Tuesday 27th June, welcomed 100 children in Year 3 or 4 from 10 Huntingdonshire primary schools. The outfield at Ramsey Cricket Club was split into 4 smaller pitches, with 4 rounds of friendly matches scheduled.

Doug Finlayson, Hunts SSP Manager said, “It was lovely to see so many children enjoying cricket, for many it was their first experience of cricket against another team/school. Thank you to Damianne from Cricket East for organising another fantastic event, which has helped to inspire and encourage more children within Huntingdonshire to take up the sport outside of school. I’m looking forward to continuing our good work with the Year 5/6 Girls Dynamos Cricket event on Tuesday 11th July.”

The event was ably supported by Year 8 and 9 Sports Leaders from Hinchingbrooke School. The leaders took on organisational responsibilities before the schools arrived, helped provide warm up activities upon the children arriving, followed by umpiring the matches confidently.
