Quadkids Athletics Competition for Years 5 & 6
Tuesday 7th June 2022
Congratulations to all of the schools and over 250 pupils who competed in the Hunts SSP Quadkids athletics competitions on Tuesday 7th June. The fantastic facilities at St Ives outdoor track hosted both the morning and afternoon events. The weather was fantastic throughout the event, helping the 21 teams to enjoy a great day of athletics. The team spirit and determination was amazing throughout the day, this was exemplified during the sprint races when the children, sports leaders and parents cheered every runner over the finish line.
Quadkids Athletics is a team based competition with 4 boys and 4 girls each competing in 4 disciplines: a long distance (600m) run, 75m sprint, a vortex throw and a standing long jump. All competitors scores are amalgamated resulting in a team score.
The event was supported by Sports Leaders from St Ivo Academy and Hinchingbrooke School, they were all amazing and encouraged each child on all the events especially around the track.
