Sawtry Hosts Rapid Fire Cricket Festival for Years 1&2
Tuesday 15th November 2022 saw the Hunts School Sports Partnership (HSSP) run their annual inter-school Rapid Fire Cricket festival for children in Years 1 and 2.
The adapted format of the game, which aims to give children from Key Stage 1 an introduction to cricket saw 5 schools and almost 50 children attend Sawtry Village Academy for a morning of mini-games and fun activities.
Sports Leaders from Sawtry Village Academy assisted with the delivery of the events, alongside the generous support from Cricket East. The leaders were split into three groups, the first two allowing schools to play a game of Rapid Fire Cricket against another school and the third group provided the children with the opportunity to practice their fielding and batting skills.
