Thongsley Fields Primary School Claim District Netball Title

75+ year 5/6 children from 7 local primary schools attended the Huntingdon leg of the Hunts School Sports Partnership’s Bee Netball competition.
The tournament which acts as a pathway to the Cambridgeshire County Netball Association county finals, was hosted at Hinchingbrooke School on Tuesday 2nd May.

The 11 teams were initially split into two groups, with each team playing every other team in their group. Following completion of the round robin group stage, each team played a final placing match against the equivalent placed team from the other group.

The event was supported by four Year 9 Sports Leaders from Hinchingbrooke School who ably umpired every match with growing confidence.
Doug Finlayson, Hunts SSP Partnership Manager said, “The standard of Netball was exceptionally high and it was great to see the level of improvement from all teams as the event progressed. Congratulations to Thongsley Fields and Buckden who will progress to Bee Netball county finals alongside Somersham and St Helen’s as Huntingdonshire’s representatives. From all at Hunts SSP we wish them good luck and look forward to hearing how the get on.”
