Westfield and Crosshall Junior Schools progress through to the county round of the
Y5/6 Girls Football Competition
On Wednesday 10th October 2018 the Hunts School Sports Partnership ran a Y5/6 Girls Football Competition for local primary schools at St Neots Town Football Club, this was the first time the event was run as a stand-alone competition. Schools were really excited to play at the club, we are very grateful to the club for their support and use of the 3G pitch and also to the Hunts FA who helped to organise the event.
The tournament provided a great opportunity for girls who might not normally represent their school in a football team to take part in a girls only competition.
Year 9 HSSP Leadership Academy members from Longsands and Ernulf Academy supported the event in officiating and organisational roles.
On the day over 100 children from 11 schools competed across 40 games. The competition was extremely successful with all games played in the right spirit, congratulations to Westfield Junior School and Crosshall Junior school who will now progress to the ESFA county finals as Huntingdonshire representatives.
Special mention goes to Priory Junior School who entered another team on the day of the competition to fill in for a cancellation. Both their teams subsequently achieved School Games Values recognition certificates for Team Work and Determination.
